A planetary-mass object pierces the asteroid belt, hurling thousands of asteroids into the inner solar system. When the first of many catastrophic Earth impacts occurs, the resulting mass destruction heralds mankind’s looming extinction.

In a desperate bid to save humanity, geologist Carter Ferguson seeks to establish safe havens inside volcanic caverns. But the impending stream of cataclysmic impacts isn’t Carter’s only challenge. A former U.S senator seeks to divert the world’s diminishing resources to her pet project: “aquacities”—underwater cities likely to fail as Earth’s building materials dwindle. And a cult leader has declared mankind’s destruction to be God’s will…and vowed to impose that will on all who attempt to survive.
